la Vivid is the word this season from Donald. His vision: A
breathtaking prism of shades that are irresistibly arresting.
The crowning jewels of DJP’s spring collection: gem-toned
shoes, handbags and leatherwear inspired by bold and sultry
tropical tints, from the inimitably sensual warmth of a golden
sunset to the sexy, statuesque bloom of a cherry-red bird of
paradise. The Donald J Pliner Spring 2008 Collection continues
to bridge fashion with altruism with a collection grouping of
shoes and handbags discreetly identifying the foundation’s
mission with peace symbols. A percentage of company sales will
fund the foundation. An irresistible combination: fashion with
a passion for peace. Before you think the Pliners’ noble cause
is their only passion, take note that there are as many facets
to Donald and Lisa’s tremendous life as there is creative

Donald’s characteristic, almost childlike enthusiasm for the

The dynamic duo of Donald and
Lisa have always been known for their extensive dossier of
charitable efforts, from starting the Toe Box Foundation for
the Miami City Ballet to involvement in the Make-A-Wish
Foundation, The Humane Society, and the Jackson Memorial
Children’s Hospital. But their own foundation grew out of
adopting their beautiful daughter, Starr Emmanuelle, from an
orphanage in Kazakhstan three years ago. “Seeing all these
children who may never be adopted over there gave us a reason
to make it our mission to do something about it,” says Donald.
"When the feet are uncomfortable, so is the mind and body."
With these words, Donald J Pliner has committed his life to
the quality and perfection of an innovative line which
includes Donald J Pliner shoes, Donald J Pliner handbags,
Donald J Pliner Belts and Donald J Piner Jrs’ shoes. A
life-long and family tradition is continued with his
luxuriously comfortable footwear that never compromises
creativity or fashion. In 1989, Donald created a women’s line
under his own name (years later, he would incorporate the same
types of materials and comfort features into a line of Donald
